Originally, My passion for working with psychological and life issues began while I provided patient care to older adults as a certified nurse’s assistant in various medical environments. I quickly discovered there was a gap in terms of appropriate mental health treatment for geriatrics and began my personal quest in understanding specific mental health issues that older adults are faced with within our society. This grew into a strong desire to understand mental health issues and be a positive support for clients of all ages. I completed my undergraduate studies at Southern Adventist University in TN with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology / Biology with an emphasis in pre-medical studies in 2003.  After receiving my bachelors degree, I decided to persevere and obtained a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology in 2005 from the University of Central Florida - Daytona Beach. During my years as a graduate student, I had the privilege to work as a UCF research assistant and traveled the United States presenting on identity formation in college students and in individuals with substance abuse issues with the UCF Daytona Beach graduate psychological research team. During this time in my life, I began also working with individuals with mood disorders, anxiety issues, identity concerns, and grief issues and developed my ability to be clinically fluid in dealing with a wide variety of psychological and relationship concerns.

Today, I am both a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida (Lic # MH 9773) and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia (Lic # LPC 013933), as well as a Qualified Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in Florida. I have been able to provide mental health counseling since 2004 and am very grateful that I have been able to show care and provide support to so many clients since then. I have an extensive background in working with a wide population of clients, specialize in identity formation, anxiety issues, depression recovery, grief and loss, behavioral therapy and work with individuals on coping with transitional issues as related to jobs, relationships, identity and stages of life.  My approach to counseling is an integration of cognitive-behavioral, transactional analysis, humanistic, and eclectic therapies and I am proud to be able to be an empathic clinician as I embrace diversity in my clients. By taking a holistic, multicultural approach to counseling that values wellness and personal empowerment, I strive to create a collaborative client-therapist relationship that assists my clients in a deeper understanding of their concerns and how best to manage and resolve their issues for themselves. In addition to providing counseling services, I also facilitate various virtual psychoeducational groups such as anger management, money mindset group, identity formation, religious trauma recovery, and self esteem and am available for speaking engagements nationally.
